More random pictures

I ought to enter an ugly wallpaper contest, huh?? This is the last of the kitchen wallpaper which the trash collectors took away this morning. Hallelujah!!!
(oh, and for those in the know - I keep the vodka AND duct tape in that cupboard there!)

Quintessential summer picture!

The beginnings of a little something something for above the fireplace...

Nearly complete dining room now with our WONDERFUL GRAFFITI!!! :D

Growing like weeds in my front yard. ;)

Random Pictures

Playing a bit of catch up today with pictures...

GONE BABY GONE!!!!!! (ugly bathroom wallpaper!)

Wonderful Graffiti samples on my beautiful dining room wall. I have to say they sent me my order slightly different than I ordered. When I emailed them about it they apologized and said they would get my order out to me correctly asap. No excuses, no ignoring me, just "sorry, we'll make it right". Now THAT is good customer service!!

The coolest girl in the coolest hangout this summer!!

A cute pic of sis. Don't ask her to drive. Don't ask her to smile. Just ask her to get in he bathtub! ;)

Something you don't see everyday. :D

ohhhhhhhhhh!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Love my two loves!

I totally didn't have the settings on my camera (whose battery was dying at that very moment) right, but it's still a cool pic.

I'm not saying who beat the boy. Just that he has a big ol' shiner. Poor kid, it took good week to go away. Good thing God makes boys extra tough!!

(ok, ok! He tried to climb a bookshelf and fell off. No one beat him! sheesh!)

Still paint crazy in this house. The living, dining, entry, lower entry, hallway, and bathroom are done. Sis is painting the laundry and downstairs bath blue and orange this week and I'm stripping the kitchen out. So much fun!!!

Sarah had german camp for the last two weeks and this week has VBS at Little Lambs. Love that place!

I bought some canvas's yesterday at Michaels and some texture paint for a project to go on the fireplace. It's just paint so far, but I'm excited about it!!

Ok, that's it. I know that's not much, but really, not much going on except painting...

How Cool Is This???

This is the first coat of the glazing effect that sis is doing on the wall in our living/ dining. She says it will take 2-3 coats. HOW COOL IS THAT??? I love it already!!!!! I want to get this Wonderful Graffiti Quote to put on that wall... kinda at the head of the table. Won't that look great??!! I just am SO EXCITED about how it's all coming along.
We also now have paint for the bathroom and sarah's room. Just keep painting, painting, painting...
Last night, Andy set up a Slip an Slide that I bought last year. Sarah had a BLAST playing with that. And Cooper got a bath to clean up the dirty hot stinky dog. He's so pretty when he's had a bath. I even took him for a short walk around our neighborhood OFF LEASE... he stays pretty darn close to me, too. Don't tell anyone, but I really do love dopey cooper ;)
After a day of hot hot hot, sis and I went to the cheapie theater to escape the heat and saw MADE OF HONOR. Very cute film. Where have I seen that girl before though?? Today is supposed to be cooler - in the 90's. Such fun. And I have a hair appt for this afternoon. Guess tomorrow's pictures will have to include ME!
Later!

Bedtime stories with Daddy. I got a ton of books from the library to keep Sarah occupied during our painting - the DK Encyclopedia's are a big hit. Here she is learning all about the ocean. I found it funny that she did NOT want to go explore the depths of the ocean but she IS interested in going to outerspace. Gotta love a kid with opinions!! ;)

Well, this picture looks more "rusty" to me than this brown paint really is. Here's the first coat in our entryway of the most delicious chocolate brown EVER. It's Miller Paint Cafe Brown (I think) and it's the perfect color of a hersheys chocolate bar. And what better color for the place where the kids hands go up an down the wall all day long?? :D

The red dining room wall... 2nd coat. It's coming along. LOVING this red. Not too dark, not too "cherry". PERFECT MELISSA RED!!! :D The last coat will go on today, whooohoooo!

So, what else is going on besides paint? Really not much at all. Paint paint paint. Wash walls, pull up floor trip, tape, paint paint paint. (and eat a few reeces pieces!)

The weather has been cool this week but warmed up yesterday. Today it's supposed to get to 97* UGH. NOT good painting weather! I went to Home Depot last night with my partner in crime (sis) and bought new fixtures for my bathroom - we'll be painting it soon to (just keep painting, painting, painting...) and I wanted to replace the outdated crap that's in there. Of course, i fell in LOVE with something that's a dark bronze look and my sink faucet is silver. So, not sure if I'm going to return what I bought, be mismatched, or spend MORE on a faucet that coordinates.

On the Sarah front, she's riding her bike now... has been for a month or more. Break my heart, baby girl. :( She's growing up so fast. She's also FINALLY figured out how to swing!!! I noticed a blister/ caulous on her hand from all the gripping the swing this week. heheh.

Ok, that's about it for today. Inlaws are due in 33 days. OH! We got an email from one of Andy's very cool cousins yesterday. I think she lives in Hamburg. She and her boyfriend will be coming through on vacation in two weeks - so we'll get to meet up with them for dinner or something.

Later, gater!

sister with the cheesey smile

Primer in the entry/ stairway. That wall will be dark brown.

The dining room. Primer on both walls. The patio door wall will be dark red.

The living room. That is the only portion that has REAL PAINT on it, not just primer.

The weather is supposed to get into the 90's the next few days, so we'll be trying to paint early / late in the day. Fun stuff...

The paint is ON THE WALL! Or, at least the primer is!! Whoohoo!

Yes, that's just primer. Yes, it matches the couch too much. Yes, I hope to be buying new couches at some point.

Proof!

My sis Rebecca is a great painter - but don't drive with her or ask her about my spackle abilities. (I got the job done, didn't I???)

Got Paint!!!

We've got PAINT!! Here it is! I know, nothing to look at yet, but we're getting there. The living and dining room walls are stripped bare and ready to go. My sis (aka foreman!) will be here soon to entertain the little ones while dh and I go to town. :D
Oh, if you notice the spoogey gunk on the wall behind the paint, I'm not sure what it is. Something hidden by our old dining room table bench seat. It will be gone SOON though and is PROOF of why I MUST paint. Lol! Do you have spooge, too?? ;)

Here is a cute random pic of Sarah (well, some of Sarah!) and a little frog we found out at Champoeg park. We camped out there a few weeks ago with Rebecca and Chris, Dad and Patty, and John and Karen Carney were there for a day, too! :D Sarah had a blast, I'll post more pics later. :D

Fabric. I finally made it to http://www.millendstore.com/ up the road about 5 miles to get some fabrics for various schemes and plans. My sis is going to quilt pillow tops with this and tea dye it to get it a bit less sharp and then I'll finish sewing them and put RIBBON on them of course!

Inspiration for Sarah's room. Found these on sale at M's and had to have them. They are a jumping off point for Sarah's big girl room. Gotta love it!

No, I don't have paint for her room yet. One thing at a time!

More Paint Chips On The Wall...

So the first round of paint chips were a bit grey for our home and lighting. Back to the paint store with Max and Sarah in tow. (Toddlers are great fun in a paint store if you're ever looking for a good time!) I picked out another 30 paint chips and today narrowed it down to these. ALL different colors from the originals. God Bless The Paint Chip!!! :D

The writing on the wall and paint chips too!

About a year and a half ago, my friend Linda sent me some scrapbook paper as a gift. Boy, was she spot ON about knowing I would love it!!! It is Cosmo Cricket Wonderland. Here is a card I made with it.

For at least 6 months one of the 12x12 papers hung on my living room wall. Boy, did I like those colors. The deep red, the glowy cream, the rich brown! I was in LOVE and INSPIRED!!! Finally this weekend my sister and I went to the paint store and picked out some paint colors and put the pallete together.
The living room will be "butter", and a deeper cream color (towards "pumpkin puree"?) called "Soiree". The fireplace wall will be "butter" with a honey glaze effect over it. Very glowy like honey. Then we'll do some swirlies in the chocolate brown color near the fireplace for accents.
The dining room wall into the kitchen and the wall behind the stove and fridge will be a dark red. Andy and I agree that the red chip I brought home is too dark/brown/rusty. So I'll go back tomorrow and try again. - glad I only brought chips home!!!
The wall at the top of the stairs that goes around into the kitchen will have the "soiree" on it.
The wall in the entry that goes from the top of the stairs down will be dark brown on both sides (so going from upstairs to downstairs - the wall that gets hand prints on it!).
The hallway will be "soiree" and the end of the hallway where the bedroom doors are will be the dark red.
The wall above the stairs (on the back side of the coat closet) will be blue.
And the wall that seperates the stairs from the garage will be "soiree" also. I think going into downstairs that pallete will get oranger to play up the natural light that's missing down there.
Blue will be an accent color, so that's why only one bit of it. :D
Here are some pictures of "the writing on the wall" It was sure fun to go around writing on the walls!! :D
