The past days have really been nice in a very ordinary way. Andy took Sarah up to Mt Hood to play in the snow on Saturday so I had a nice quiet day to myself. I did some shopping for Sarah's Easter dress and some maternity clothing for myself, had dinner out, and had a very enjoyable day. How blessed am I to get to do such things? How blessed are we to have a Daddy and Daughter who love each other so much and delight in doing fun stuff together?
Sunday was church and then the most FABULOUS nap with Andy. But not before Sarah modeled all her new clothes for us. How blessed to get to stare at our beautiful daughter and marvel at how God has made her. Then I went to church where they had a worship concert. You just KNOW that was a blessing! Amazing music and so nice to get to visit with my Father who loves me so. And After THAT, my friend Joey and I and her daughters went out to eat at my FAVORITE restaurant, Chez Jose ! Yummmmm!
And all throught these wonderful days, there is a baby growing in my tummy, and I actually feel pretty good. Wow! Blessed! I am Blessed Indeed!
I hope you are not only being blessed, but feeling blessed, too!

The week of the Lime
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wg_L0wGTyA
According to babycenter.com the baby is now 2 inches long and the size of a lime. Of course, thinking of having a lime inside me makes me think of the old Harry Nillson song "Put the Lime in the Coconut". A classic favorite. I hope you'll enjoy this silly Kermit The Frog version of that song and get a giggle over our little lime.
I'm feeling much better these days. The nausea has calmed down a lot and I'm just tired a lot.
We've all recovered from that nasty cold going around - FINALLY. Sarah even got an ear infection from it, poor girl! But, she was a trouper and recovered quickly.
I'm starting to feel DESPERATE for spring. This weekend we've had snow and hail. A LOT of HAIL. I dont know if I've ever seen so much at once here in Oregon. Sunday afternoon it hailed and covered the lawn with a blanket of white that was still there in the morning. Very strange! So, if you've seen the sun, PLEASE send it our way!
My friend Linda and her kids were here this weekend while we went to the CKC Scrapbook Convention. Linda and I had fun and created some cool things. I'll post pictures later. :D It's always good to spend time with Linda!

Sarah's Valentine

Saturday after our date time, we gave Sarah her Valentine, which told her about her new baby brother or sister. She hadn't been feeling well, so her reaction was very subdued - especially for her - but she's very excited now and curious about all things baby. On Sunday she and Andy called Oma and Opa to tell them our big news.
Up to Now:
Jan 20: After forgetting a few times, I finally buy a Home Pregnancy Test and get a POSITIVE. I'm not surprised, but still in shock!
Jan 28:
today marks the 6 week point. Isn't that cool??!! I'm so excited, I'm a dork, I know. I have my first appt on 2/11 (8 weeks) and they told me today that they would do an ultrasound. I don't have morning sickness but am taking B6 3 times a day to try and prevent it altogether. Pray that it goes well. My boobs are killing me, I can feel the expansion of my uterus already, my tummy feels bloated, and my brain cell is COMPLETELY GONE. I think we'll "reveal" on St Patricks Day, which is the 13 week mark.
Feb 4:
I just wanted to say a big WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! Seven weeks today and I feel great!
Feb 11:
We had our first dr appt today which went pretty much as predicted. Here are some highlights:
The dr says there is a possibility of a VBAC, if I choose it. Who knew? We're not sure about this, but of course have plenty of time to decide.
I got paid $10 for a blood draw for a thryoid research project in pg women. They took about 10 vials of blood draws in total (for all my prenatal testing)!
We got to see the little bean - nice strong heart! AND JUST ONE!
Andy was so happy to see little bean that he now can not contain himself. We've agreed to "reveal" to Sarah this weekend via her Valentine card... and will reveal via our blog to the general public on Sunday, I guess. (get out your Fozi the Bear voice for this one:)YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feb 14:
can you believe this... 8 1/2 weeks and NO PUKING! I'm estatic!!!!!!!!!!! Andy took me to a nice waterfront seafood restaurant tonight (SHRIMP!) and we had a wonderful time. We decided on a boys name: Balthazar Johannes Michealangelo Jose Bernhard Marvin Andrew Fey. :PPPPPP
Feb 18:
Today is 9 weeks. My need for a morning nap has actually diminished a bit. That's very surprising. I'm feeling good and defintely feel like baby is growing in there. According to BabyCenter.com, the baby is now the size of a grape. Afternoons have been the hard time for me. I get really tired, weak like I'm going to faint, and nauseous. I HAVE to lay down, but I'm not always that tired. Last night when I got back up around 730, I made a big pot of spaghetti for tonight's dinner. I guess I need to plan to make dinners around noon so they are ready when Andy comes home and before I feel like I'm going to drop over! I got some of the blood test results back, everything within normal. I guess I'll get the rest of the results at my next Dr appt.
I don't yet know when we can have the ultrasound to determine Little Bean's sex, but I'm starting to get very excited about that!

Cooper and Mercy get new names...

There is a cute movie called Milo and Otis about dog and a cat that go on a grand adventure. I suppose it's a kids movie, but no adult is going to be bored with it. There is a cute bluesgrass song that is played several times during the movie. It's called "Take a Walk"...
"We're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna see what we can find today. We're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna see what we can find today... On a pretty little farm, the sun comes up on a curious cat and a pug-nosed pup, a brand new life outside the door, follow your nose and go explore. Cuz we're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna see what we can find today. We're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna see what we can find today. Such a great big world, it's all set up for a curious cat and a pug-nosed pup. Friends to meet, places to be, it's all so new and fun to see! And we're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna see what we can find today. We're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna see what we can find today!"
Evidentally, Cooper and Mercy had a conversation that went something like this.
Mercy to Cooper "Did you see that? Those people just left us again! They are going on an adventure without us! HEY! Let's go on our own adventure!!"
Cooper "I know where the fence has an opening. Did you smell the great cat poop I found earlier today?"
Mercy: "Forget cat poop, I found a great cat today that kept staring at me. Let's go back to his house and show him who is BOSS!"
so off Cooper and Mercy went. Down Shadybrook, out to river road where apparently, the best place to walk is in the MIDDLE of the road. Fortunately some nice folks picked them up and took them to a vet's office that scanned them for chips and called us. Ironically, the vets office was very near where we went out to dinner... it was a night of driving in circles...
So, Cooper and Mercy have earned the names MILO AND OTIS. At least for today. Oh ya, they got good baths today too, sort of a "welcome home" gift from us! ;)
Hey, wanna go take a walk??
